My school education

Both high school[1] and middle school[2] have enriched me greatly, both personally and culturally. I had the opportunity to meet wonderful people and form relationships that still mean a lot to me today. High school, in particular, provided me with extensive knowledge through a curriculum of 11 subjects; especially subjects like art, history, philosophy, and Italian literature allowed me to enrich myself in the humanities as well, not just in the area where I have more interest, namely the scientific one.

College

Moving to the United States was not easy because I had to leave my family, friends, my home, and my routines. I decided to attend university in the US for several reasons, such as improving my English, getting more hands-on experience (projects) during my studies (in Italy, it's mostly theoretical learning from books, even in engineering), getting to know new cultures and people from around the world, changing my environment to step out of my comfort zone, and challenging my personality. Up to now, my university[1] has helped me grow a lot, both personally and academically, especially in the scientific and technical fields.

Tennis has been my love and hate. My odi et amo. I had the best moments but also the toughest ones on a mental level. It certainly filled me with emotions and taught me a lot, especially by helping me to get to know myself better, making me understand my limits, where I can improve and where instead I am strong and I do not have to be afraid.

Tennis

But it wasn't just that, it also helped me in discipline (especially in training, tournaments  in daily life that came with it), team collaboration, communication, self-improvement, technique, commitment , in audacity, in concentration, in physical and mental stamina. Today I can say I am happy with the results I have achieved.

I was among the top 20 players in Italy and I took part in all the most important national competitions both in teams and individually, for several years being first in my region, Piedmont. If I am who I am today, it is also thanks to tennis and its constant challenge in helping me control my emotions, abilities, intuition, and perception of time.

LEGO®

One of my greatest passions that I've had throughout my journey has been Legos®. It is precisely with this game that my spirit as an engineer came to life. I used to enjoy modifying Lego® Technic™ sets by changing motors, gears, and hydraulic pumps to achieve the results I wanted. I have tried all types of Legos®, even building some purely for collecting purposes, albeit having less fun. This game has helped me practice patience, precision, and logic.

Music and chess

My dad is an engineer and he used to play tennis, and I probably inherited from him both my aptitude for scientific subjects and the sport I practice. My mom was a ballet dancer and tried to instill in me an appreciation for the arts, taking me to the theater to watch ballet performances, enrolling me in chess and flute classes.

During middle school, I spent my free time playing the flute and chess. However, with high school, I no longer had the time and I devoted all my efforts to tennis and academic studies.

I can say, though, that the 3 years of music taught me to cherish those moments that only musical notes can provide, with the satisfaction of creating melodies directly from fingers and mouth. Even if I played chess only one year, it helped me improve in logic, maintaining a clear mind, and cunning, pushing me to always seek the best solution among all possible combinations.
